Contrary to popular belief, carrying a prophet's mantle is not all that glamorous. For those who have made it glamorous I dare to question the authenticity of their mantle, but that's for a different blog. To walk as a prophet, they will endure things most believers will never know or experience. Prophets are not appointed and picked by man, they're hand picked by the Father. The Lord told the Prophet Jeremiah, "I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations" (Jeremiah 1;5). When the Lord marks someone to be a prophet, He forms them with a unique make up and different wiring that sets them apart. Their make up allows them to have a certain sensitivity to the things of the Spirit, enables them to have have a knowing, and see and hear things from a very young age.
Most don't realize they're a prophet until later in life, until they have an encounter where the Lord reveals it to them. True prophets will go through a time of testing and training, but really their whole life's journey is their training ground. To those that carry the prophetic gifting, the enemy will mercilessly cause all of hell to come against what they carry to kill the prophetic seeds carried in their prophetic womb. The enemy fears a prophet because of the authority they carry, their ability to create, the breaker anointing upon their life, the power to shift atmospheres, the ability to see and hear in the spirit realm. The enemy wants to stop this gifting at all costs. The enemy will use fear and intimidation to try and shut down the prophetic gifting. Along with fear, rejection is one of the most powerful tactics the enemy will use to wound and take out a prophet. From the time a prophet is born, they are marked by the Lord to be set apart from those around them. Prophet's have a hard time fitting in with others because of what they feel, see, hear, and carry. Those who carry a prophetic gifting walk/live in a different realm of the spirit then those around them, but often times don't realize, others don't function like that. From an early age and through out a prophet's life, the enemy will viciously use rejection to try and kill and wound a prophet to the point where they will try to give up the mantle because, the pain of being rejected and misunderstood is too great. When a prophet answers the call, there is a great price. One of the reasons true prophets flow powerfully, is because of the price and pain they have endured to walk in the mantle. A prophet becomes an oracle, and a vessel through which He can flow. In the process of that, a prophet must lay down who they are, so the Lord can fully move through them. They are no longer for themselves, but allow the Lord to use them as He pleases. The Lord will refine and shape a prophet to kill any pride that resides in them, because the Lord will use them as a spectacle before men. Prophets often times become the message. Because of the way the Lord uses prophets, they are ridiculed, rejected, made fun of, talked about, etc. Every prophet in the Bible faced the pain of rejection, even Jesus. Jesus was rejected by his family, and his hometown. No prophet is immune to the pain of rejection. Often times prophets are loners, or have a very small circle of friends and confidants. To survive as a prophet, you must allow the Lord to heal those places of rejection when they come. If you don't allow the Lord to heal those wounds, it will taint your prophetic flow. Those around us may not ever understand the pain of rejection and being misunderstood, but Jesus did. Jesus is the prophet's model. He was able to deal with the pain of rejection because, He knew the Father's love and knew who he was to the Father. Before you are a prophet, you're a son or a daughter. To endure as a prophet, you must know who you are first, and be rooted, grounded, established in the Father's love (Eph 3:17). As a prophet, it's easy to be guarded and learn to deal with rejection. The Father won't allow you to stay there, because He knows when rejection begins to contaminate and He will expose it. I was reminded of this recently. Often times we don't realize we are prophesying or flowing out rejection because we just learn to deal it. But the Father loves you enough to rip the band aid off to heal those rejected to places. As prophets we will always in sense be rejected and misunderstood because God made us to be set apart for His glory. But we must learn to reject the rejection, that comes to wound and infiltrate our hearts.

Excellent post that speaks to me in many ways. I have sensed for some time that I am not only a prophetic man, but marked to function as a prophet.

Hi Sonny! So glad you were encouraged by the blog! And that's great that your church is open to the prophetic! I would suggest start doing some research and study about a prophet. Jennifer LeClaire has some great stuff on prophets/prophetic, look her up on Facebook she's got a ministry page, John Eckhardt, Kris Valloton. And maybe talk with your church and see if they can help bring some guidance in growing in the prophetic. Hope this helps!

This is what Artaban did. He trusted Jesus, no matter how hard his journey has been. He sacrificed the precious jewels that he was supposed to offer to Him to help other people. That is unconditional love. Being able to sacrifice what matters to you the most for others who are in need of your help. That is the only thing that Jesus wants to feel from us - unconditional love. After all, love is the language of God. He speaks of nothing but love. And as His followers, we should do too. 4/15/2017 11:30:10 am
I have been going through hell lately in the physical. It appears this is all part of trials and testing for the next level of ministry. if I can make it. I'm sure I'm not alone, but after visiting the best churches close to me, they do NOT have 5 fold ministry in effect, and when I ask them about where it is, they either don't know what it is, or that they lay out some words that its not for now. so the apostolic or prophetic is missing from much of the mainstream church. and when I would inquire about it since I'm driven to see it be there, I am looked at with heads shaking, and just end up leaving the place shaking the dust off my feet. so I know the feeling of being alone. I have no church home and not many people in my circle as friends, and feeling like I'm avoided in advancing. oh how many times the enemy has pushed me to quit. I'm trying to hang in there, and I need Abba to move on the issues against me. so many prophetic words about breakthrough coming and restoring what the enemy has stolen, yet it continues to tarry...

Great article on prophetic people! Your article describes my life from as early as I can remember-different, don't ever fit in, rejected, etc. We are entering a season where God is raising up the prophets to speak boldly through them, so sons and daughters hold on in the midst of the toughness of your life. God is still with you and He is preparing us for battles. Regardless of what hardness you walk through, hold on to Him. 🔥🔥🔥

Can we have more of these titles, I am 33 years of age and a female. I have been suffering since from childhood, I rejected my self as a prophet. My Pastor prophesied that I am called in the office of a prophet.

This is such a great article. Every person has their own stories. It is up to us if we are going to judge the person or listen to him. Just like Jesus, he became a good son of the Lord. Many people nowadays lose their faith just because of their own realities. It really saddens me to think that they do not recognize each other's opinion, which can be for a greater solution on the problem of our nation. We should all be one and be and to each other.

Oh my goodness, This speaks too me so much! I've been through a lifetime of rejection and hurt. I feel I can't often share with others because others just cannot understand. Also, I choose joy and to focus on the blessings and good things in life. Revently been on a search for my place in the Kingdom. Have been in a waiting & preparation season it seems. Waiting for revelation andvwhat steps I am to go in next. But have felt stalled for some reason. Thank You so much for sharing your wisdom.

This article made me cry and cry. I remember as a little girl that the Lord spoke Jeremiah 1 to me at a young age. I have always felt "set apart" and never fit in not even in the church world. This article ministered to my heart as I recently just started reading some of your articles. The Lord has just been opening this calling in me again recently as because of great pain and rejection I walked away from the mantle for a season. I have purposed in my heart not to lay it down again, regardless of the personal cost. Thank you for being obedient to the call. Blessings.

This posting just encouraged me so much. This has described my entire life from my first memories up until today. Being able to see it explained so clearly helps me to understand the why behind the life I have lived. Just knowing I am not alone makes me more encouraged in allowing me to continue operating in my gift.
