The Oil of Joy Is Being Poured Out

I believe the Lord is highlighting the joy of the Lord, and the oil of joy in this hour for His people to once again walk in. I believe joy is a forgotten anointing we can carry as the people of God, and its a great weapon of warfare. It's the anointing that destroys the yoke of bondage! In Isaiah 61 and Luke 4 Jesus begins to prophesy about himself, and tell how the Lord has anointed him. Isaiah 61:2-3 declares, "The Lord has anointed me...to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor and the day of vengeance of our God, to comfort all who mourn, and provide for those who grieve in Zion--to bestow on them a crown of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, and a garment of praise instead of a spirit of despair. They will be called oaks of righteousness, a planting of the Lord for the display of his splendor."

In the passage above we see the oil of joy is the antidote for mourning, heaviness, and it releases strength to stand as an oak of righteousness to display God's glory in our lives. When we walk in heaviness, sadness, oppression, depression, it dims the light and glory of God in our lives we are supposed to carry. Heaviness, oppression, and the spirits associated with them have a way of permeating our bones and spirit, that causes us to lose our strength and joy. Psalm 34:5 says, "Those who look to him for help will be radiant with joy;no shadow of shame will darken their faces." When we walk with heaviness and oppression it causes us to walk with our heads down because of the weight of the oppression, and it often comes with shame. It's important for us to learn to look up to the Father. Looking to the Father, releases His light and glory upon us dispelling darkness and releasing joy over us. If the enemy can get us to look away we loose the source of our strength.

Joy is needed for our spiritual strength and stature. In Nehemiah 8, The Israelites are coming back from a place of bondage and captivity and Nehemiah tells them, "Then Nehemiah the governor, Ezra the priest and teacher of the Law, and the Levites who were instructing the people said to them all, “This day is holy to the Lord your God. Do not mourn or weep.” For all the people had been weeping as they listened to the words of the Law. Nehemiah said, “Go and enjoy choice food and sweet drinks, and send some to those who have nothing prepared. This day is holy to our Lord. Do not grieve, for the joy of the Lord is your strength" (Nehemiah 8:9-10). Once again there is exchange for grief and oppression, His joy is our strength.

Joy brings elevation and ascension. Hebrews 1:9 say, "You have loved righteousness and hated wickedness;therefore God, your God, has set you above your companions by anointing you with the oil of joy.” When you are anointed with the oil of joy, it causes a separation. The word in the Hebrew for above is para means from, beside of. What is meant to hold us down and keep us in a dark place, the oil of joy causes us to break away and live above whats trying to hold us down. When anointing is released its often done on the head. The head represents authority and mindsets. As the oil of joy is released, it releases authority to break off thoughts, mindsets, and strongholds that are not of God. "God has not given you the spirit of fear but love, power, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7)."

The oil of joy upon our lives releases the fragrance of Heaven. Psalm 45:7 (TPT) says, "
You are passionate for righteousness and you hate lawlessness. This is why God, your God, crowns you with bliss above your fellow kings. He has anointed you, more than any other, with his oil of fervent joy, the very fragrance of heaven’s gladness."  Once again here we see the oil of joy crowns us causing us to rise in authority and glory, and it releases the fragrance of heaven over our lives. The fragrance of God attracts the things of God to our lives, favor, honor, grace, joy, peace, victory, etc.

The oil of joy is connected to and releases breakthrough. David said in Psalm 51:12 (TPT), "Let my passion for life be restored, tasting joy in every breakthrough you bring to me. Hold me close to you with a willing spirit that obeys whatever you say." The oil of joy protects your passion, and no matter the circumstance joy helps us to obey which brings lasting joy and breakthrough. As Jesus was going to the cross Hebrews 12:2 says, "Because of the joy set before him he endured the cross." Joy causes us to endure through the pain into glory. We need to let go of happiness and grab unto joy. Joy is eternal and cannot be moved by circumstances. It's been tested and proven. When we walk in joy it causes us to walk in the things of the spirit because, its the fruit or the character of the spirit (Galatians 5).

When the oil of joy is released is releases overflow in our lives. Isaiah 35:10 says, "and those the Lord has rescued will return. They will enter Zion with singing; everlasting joy will crown their heads.Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away." Have you been overtaken by His joy? God wants to over take your life with His joy. When His joy flows in your life it removes every hindrance and obstacle that is blocking you from experiencing His fullness. The joy of Lord brings refreshing and releases the fullness of God into our lives (John 15:11).

I believe one of the markings of the move of God will be the oil of joy released over His people. I saw the Lord pouring the oil of joy our over His people. Services will be marked by laughter, joy, dancing, and the expressions of joy. The people of God need to learn how to laugh again, to really experience the joy of our salvation. As we begin to marinate and saturate in the oil of joy, heaviness, oppression, mental illness, depression, will begin to lift and break off of God's people. His joy brings the strength we need to stay in the battle and win the victory. Let the Lord overtake you with His joy and watch your enemies flee, oppression lift, and your strength be renewed again. The joy of the Lord is your strength and will cause you to prosper!

God has multiple ways of showing us the kind of love that we deserve. That’s why we should also do the same thing and love him back in any way we can. Though are not a firm believer of Him and your faith is not that deep, you need to believe in Him because we all know that He is the only way, the truth, and the light. If you have Him in your life, you will never feel lost and empty because His love is mote than enough. That’s one thing I’ve learned from this article which also changed the lives of many people. Hopefully, it will have the same effect to other people as well.
